Explore the Maremma, a region that few foreign tourists know about. Unlike classic Tuscany with the provinces of Siena, Florence and Pisa, there are no large cultural and historical towns here. Instead, there is an abundance of charming little towns that are well worth a visit. Experience the annual grape festival in Scasano, the medieval carnival in Montorgiali and the medieval festival in Cana. The latter medieval village impresses with its location, surrounded by tranquil mountain forests and olive groves on the slopes of Monte Amiata. You can also visit the archaeological site of Roselle. Above all, the often overlooked provincial capital of Grosseto is a must-see. In the heart of the city, which is surrounded by a high, well-preserved medieval city wall, you will find a beautiful cathedral, winding alleyways and lovely squares with lots of stores and pavement cafés. We also recommend exploring the medieval village of Rocchette di Fazio and, of course, heading to the sea!
