The historical Foffani house with a vineyard is in the centre of the village Clauiano, one of the “most beautiful villages in Italy” (Borghi più belli d’Italia). The property is fully listed and is a well-preserved example of pre-Venetian architecture in Friuli. From the main entrance by the village square you enter the vineyards directly. The apartment is quiet and sheltered within it, with a view of the courtyard and the garden. Clauiano is at the heart of Friuli and is 4km from the Unesco town Palmanova. Aquileia is about 20km to the south. The holiday town Grado is about 30km away.

The apartment is on 3 floors: the ground-level living room (30m²) has a glass door and a view of the garden. Natural stone stairs lead to the first floor with a kitchen (gas hob, fridge, microwave, crockery and cookware), a two-bed room (24m²) and a bathroom (bath/shower, WC). A little antique wooden staircase leads to the second floor with the second bedroom (two-bed room, 24m²) and a second bathroom (shower, bidet, WC). A third bed can be added to this bedroom if required. A cot is also available.

All the rooms have plenty of light and look out towards the garden or village rooftops. There is some original antique furniture. In winter the whole apartment is heated, in summer there is air conditioning in the two bedrooms.

    “Vielen Dank für eine wunderschöne Woche (die eindeutig zu kurz war) in dem historischen Weingut. Am Ankunftstag hatten wir das große Glück, einem Theaterstück im gemütlichen Hof des Weingutes folgen zu dürfen. Musik, Kunst und Malerei sind neben dem wunderbaren Wein überall vertreten. Beim gemütlichen Essen im Garten und der Blick auf das weitläufige Anwesen kann man bestens abschalten. Elisabetta und Giovanni sind sehr herzliche, gastfreundliche und sprachgewandte Gastgeber, man fühlt sich sofort sehr wohl und willkommen.
    Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.”

    “Our stay in Mosaic B&B was a blend of Italian culture, family traditions, history and modern life. The apartment is a part of the big house situated on the picturesque, glorious vineyard. The hosts are very welcoming and caring. Elisabetta speaks many languages which makes the stay so much easier. The apartment has two spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is plenty of storage place and wardrobes if you have a longer stay as we did. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking for the meals in. Rooms have aircons and window have flyscreens. We enjoyed our breakfasts outside in a beautiful endless garden. The tour of the vineyard, family history and family stories made us part of it all. Wine tasting is a must (it is done on Sunday from around 12pm onwards), it was so enjoyable. We had bikes to use, so rode to the nearby village one evening for dinner. Both Elisabetta and her husband are wonderful hosts, and they made our week long stay at their vineyard estate a wonderful occasion.”
